Pictured From Left To Right - Jason, Lou, James and Jim Handy Our family has been welcoming guests to Kentucky for at least four generations. Great Grandpa McCowan provided free hospitality to travelers back in the 1920s. Lou and Conrad Handy opened the Handy Motel in 1954 and the family has owned and operated six hotels since.
We know that service is extremely important, and we are very proud of our staff. Clean, well kept accommodations at a fair price is why our hotels consistently rank in the top 5% of all Hampton Inns' world wide, and our Heritage Inn and Suites won the "Hotel of the Year Award."
Some of our guests have been 41rst President George H.W. Bush, Baseball Commissioner, and Kentucky Governor, A.B. "Happy" Chandler; Actors: Walter Mathau, Bert Lancaster, Fess Parker "Davy Crockett", Duncan Reinaldo "The Cisco Kid"; Artists: Thomas Hart Benton; Musicians: Charlie Pride, George Jones, Ray Charles and others; Anita Madden, Jeff Gordon, comedian and cousin Carl Hurley to name a few.
